How to approve and reject time off requests

Learn how to manage requested time off

One of the most important aspects of approving or rejecting time off requests in a company is ensuring that the decision is fair and consistent for all employees. With Factorial, you have a centralized system for tracking and managing time off requests.


 

Who can manage requested time off?

In Factorial, administrators have the possibility of managing holiday requests at any time. In addition, you can specify which user groups are allowed to access this functionality.

  1. On your sidebar, go to Settings
  2. In General, click on Permissions
  3. Choose the Permission group and click on See group
  4. Scroll down until you find Time off
  5. Enable Approve and reject leaves for the group you want
  6. Click on Save changes
  7. Check the changes and click on Save changes

 


 

Approve or reject time off requests

When an absence is requested, the time off approver in charge will be notified by email.

 

 

Approve or reject from the Inbox section

All the requests received can be found in the Inbox section of Factorial:

  1. On your sidebar, go to Inbox
  2. Click on Requests
  3. There, you will find all of the received requests

 

You can:

  • Click the arrow icon for further details regarding the request
  • Easily reject or approve the request by clicking on the respective button

 


 

Approve or reject from the Employee profile

  1. On your sidebar, go to Organization
  2. Choose one employee
  3. Go to Time off
  4. Scroll down until you find Time off requests pending for review
  5. Click on the request and approve or reject

 


 

What if I reject a request, but later I decide to want to approve it?

From the employee profile, you have the ability to review and edit a rejected request directly:

  1. On your sidebar, go to Organization
  2. Choose one employee
  3. Go to Time off
  4. Scroll down until you find Rejected requests
  5. Open the request you want to approve
  6. Click on Approve
rejected and then approved

When an absence is approved or rejected, the employee will be notified by email.
