Import your file
- On your sidebar, go to the IT Inventory section
- Click on the 3 dots up in the corner → Import devices
- Download the official template and fill in the information for your devices
- Upload your completed file in .XLSX format
Review your columns
Once you upload the file, Factorial will automatically match the columns from your spreadsheet with the fields in IT Inventory.
- If you used the official template, the mapping will be done automatically.
- If some fields don’t match, you can adjust them manually.
Check and confirm your data
After the columns are mapped, you will see a preview of all your devices.
- Errors will be highlighted so you can correct them before finishing.
- Once everything looks good, click Confirm to complete the import.
Track your imports
You can follow the progress of your file in the Import history section.
- Here you can see the status of your import and download error reports if needed.
Tip: Always use the official template to ensure smooth mapping and avoid errors.

IT Inventory permissions
By default, only Superadministrator can see, create, edit, assign, and retire devices in the IT Inventory. To delegate these actions, you can enable the Manage IT permission for specific users.
This permission gives full access to all inventory features - including creating new devices, importing them, editing profiles, assigning/unassigning, and managing statuses - without granting Superadministrator rights.
How to enable the Manage IT permission
- On your sidebar, go to Settings
- In General, click on Permissions
- Select the Permission group where you want to add access
- Click on IT Management
- Enable/disable the Manage IT permission
- Click on Save changes
Once enabled, all users in that permission group will be able to manage the IT Inventory.
