The Automatic Corrections for Manual Breaks feature automatically adjusts break and work times on employees’ timesheets based on your company’s predefined break rules.

When and why to use it

  • Ensure that timesheets comply with legal break requirements.
  • Save time by avoiding manual review and correction of break records.
  • Improve accuracy and consistency across all timesheets.
 

 

How to Use

Follow these steps to activate and manage automatic break corrections:

  1. Go to Time Tracking in your Factorial sidebar.
  2. Open the Settings tab and navigate to Break Rules.
  3.  Review your company’s break policies and required minimum break durations.
  4. Enable manual breaks 
  5. Under Automatic Corrections, choose one of the following options:
    1. Alert employees — Employees receive a notification to correct their breaks if they don’t meet the requirements.
    2. Apply automatic corrections — The system automatically adjusts the timesheet to ensure compliance and correct calculation of extra time

      Manual breaks must be enabled.

       
  6. Save your changes.

Monitor the changes in the Timesheets view to ensure the rules are being applied as expected.


 

FAQ

  1. Can I apply automatic corrections retroactively?
    Currently, corrections apply only to newly recorded or edited timesheets. For past entries, adjustments must be made manually.
  2. Will employees be notified of automatic changes?
    Yes. Employees will receive an alert whenever a correction is applied to their timesheet.
  3. Is this feature available in all countries?
    At the moment, it’s available only for companies operating in Germany. Expansion to other markets will be evaluated later.
