Smart Decision Making provides managers with data-based recommendations to help them review and approve Time Off requests more efficiently.
Now, these recommendations appear directly in the Inbox, so managers can access them wherever they handle requests, not just on the Time Off page.
How to Use
- Open the Inbox from your main navigation bar
- Go to the Time Off requests section
- Select a request to review
You’ll see a recommendation banner at the top of the request (e.g., “Based on company policy, we recommend approving this request.”) - Review the information and click Approve or Reject as needed
- (Optional) Click on the Learn more link if you want to understand how the recommendation was generated

You can always make your own decision regardless of the recommendation. The feature is designed to assist, not replace, your judgment.
Tips and Best Practices
- Review the recommendation before acting, it’s based on existing policies and patterns, but it’s still up to you to decide.
- Use the Inbox regularly to centralize your approvals and keep track of all requests.
- Share feedback on the recommendations using the feedback option if available. Your input helps improve accuracy and future features.

Can I disable Smart Decision Making for my Inbox?
Not individually. Smart Decision Making is activated at the company level. If you have concerns about its use, contact your administrator.

Are the recommendations automatically applied?
No. You always have the final decision. The system only suggests actions based on policy and past data.

Will this affect how employees see their requests?
No. Smart Decision Making only impacts the manager’s view. Employees will continue to see the usual status updates.
