Overview
With this update, all customers can now access parts of Talent Analytics and Pulse, even if they do not have the Performance or Engagement modules. In this article, you will learn what is included in the free version, how upsell flows work, and how these changes can help you explore more advanced features.
Talent Analytics and Pulse are now available as core features in Factorial.
- Customers without the Performance module can access the Talent Analytics Headcount tab.
- Customers without the Engagement module can access the Pulse Dashboard (admin-only).
In both cases, additional areas like Performance, 9-Box Grid, Surveys, eNPS, and Engagement Insights are displayed with upsell flows. This means you’ll see the feature overview and how it could benefit your organization, with the option to unlock full access by activating the corresponding module.
When and why it should be used
These features give you a starting point to understand the value of Talent Analytics and Pulse:
- Headcount insights help you visualize your workforce and plan resources effectively.
- Pulse results give you a first look at how your team is feeling.
By offering a preview, Factorial allows you to explore how deeper insights could improve your HR processes before deciding to expand to Performance or Engagement modules.
How to use
- On your sidebar, go to the Analytics section
- Select Talent Analytics
- If you don’t have the Performance module, you’ll see the Headcount tab
- Other tabs (Performance, 9-Box Grid) will show upsell flows with explanations and a call to action
- Go to the Pulse Dashboard under Surveys
- If you’re an admin without the Engagement module, you’ll have access to the Pulse Dashboard
- Additional features such as Surveys, eNPS, and Engagement Insights will appear as upsell flows
- To unlock full access, follow the prompts to activate the Performance or Engagement modules, or contact our support team.


If you only see the Headcount tab in Talent Analytics, it means you don’t have the Performance module, and if you can’t access Pulse, keep in mind that only admins have access to the dashboard.
