You can create a specific absence type (e.g., Work From Home, Home Office) and decide whether it affects a counter.
Work from home without affecting a counter
If you set the absence as “not discount time”, you can assign it to any counter, as it will not deduct time from it.
- Go to Settings → Time Off → Absence Types
- Click Create absence type
- Name the absence (e.g., Work From Home)
- Under Balance configuration, select Does not discount
- Assign it to a counter
- Save the changes

Work from home affecting a counter
You can create a counter with a set number of days specifically for work-from-home days. You can attach an absence type to this counter, and it will automatically deduct days from the counter whenever an employee requests it.

- Go to Settings → Time Off → Absence Types
- Click Create absence type
- Name the absence (e.g., Work From Home)
- Under Balance configuration, select Does discount
- Assign it to a counter
- Save the changes
If work from home absence type cannot be requested, make sure it is assigned to the correct policies and If the Counters are not updating, verify the absence type is linked to the counter, check the counter’s period and confirm collaborator assignments.
