Survey Templates in Training

Save time and keep your training surveys consistent by creating, managing, and reusing survey templates.

Overview

Survey Templates allow administrators to create pre-defined surveys that can be reused across multiple courses or training sessions.
This functionality helps standardize how feedback is collected from participants, managers, or trainers, ensuring consistent data for evaluation and compliance purposes.

When to use it:

  • Reuse the same set of questions for multiple trainings.
  • Maintain consistent evaluation formats for compliance, HR audits, or ISO certifications.
  • Reduce manual work when setting up surveys for recurring or similar training programs.

How to Use

Follow these steps to create and apply Survey Templates:

  1. On your sidebar, navigate to Trainings → Surveys Templates
  2. Select + Create Template
  3. Choose the type of survey you want to create:
    • Satisfaction Survey
    • Effectiveness Survey
    • Knowledge Test
  4. Add your survey title and optional subtitle
  5. Depending on the survey type, you can adjust properties such as:
    • Anonymity toggle (available for Satisfaction surveys)
    • Mandatory questions, such as a final rating
    • Recipient type, selecting whether the survey will go to participants, managers, or both
    • Timing logic (coming soon) to define when the survey is sent automatically
  6. Add questions and sections
    • Use the Add Question button to create questions
    • Organize questions into sections for better structure
    • You can include various question types (multiple choice, scale, open-ended, etc.)
  7. Click Save Template to add it to your Survey Templates library

Reuse a template in a course
When creating a new survey within a training, select Use Template and choose the relevant template from your library.

  • You can modify specific details before sending the survey if needed.

Edit an existing template

  • Access Survey Templates → [Template name] → Edit.
  • Make your changes and save.

Edits will not affect surveys that have already been sent using this template.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Name templates clearly to make them easy to identify (e.g., “Onboarding Satisfaction – Global” or “Post-Training Knowledge Test”).
  • Centralize management by designating one admin to maintain and update templates.
  • Review templates periodically to ensure questions remain relevant and aligned with your company’s learning objectives.
  • Leverage anonymity to encourage honest feedback in satisfaction surveys.

If you update a template and your previous surveys don’t change, remember that edits only apply to future surveys — those already sent remain unchanged.
