Factorial offers different ways to connect expenses with your ERP or accounting tools. These integrations help finance teams reduce manual work, speed up month-end closing, and keep accounting data consistent.
Manual imports
If your ERP or accounting software does not have a direct integration, you can still connect Factorial using manual imports:
- Export expenses or ledger data from Factorial (see How to export expenses).
- Import the CSV or XLSX file into your ERP or accounting tool.
- Match Factorial fields to your ERP’s chart of accounts.
Best for: companies without supported ERPs, or teams who only need monthly/quarterly uploads.
Public API
For companies with internal IT teams or external developers, Factorial provides a Public API.
- Retrieve expenses, reimbursements, and accounting data directly.
- Build custom syncs into ERPs, BI tools, or internal dashboards.
- Automate recurring processes (daily syncs, reconciliations, reporting).
API documentation: Factorial API reference
Best for: companies that want automated, real-time integrations with internal systems.
Partner integrations
Factorial also works with selected partners who provide ready-made ERP connectors. These allow you to map expense categories and accounting codes once, then sync data automatically.
Currently available ERP integrations:
- Microsoft Business Central
Key benefits:
- Automatic synchronization of HR and finance data (employees, expenses, suppliers, projects).
- Expense reports automatically recorded and assigned to cost centers.
- Simplified supplier management with VAT automation.
How to set up:
- Contact your Account Manager to discuss the specific of your integration.
- Receive a step-by-step usage manual to get your setup started.
- Technical support can be provided by the partner directly.
Tips for finance teams
- Start with manual exports/imports if you’re testing Factorial and move to API or partner integrations once stable.
- Keep a field mapping document (Factorial ↔ ERP) to avoid mismatches.
- For recurring imports, automate with the API or set up a partner connector.
- Contact your Account Manager before starting any custom integration to confirm best practices.
Troubleshooting
- Data doesn’t match ERP → check your field mapping or rename columns during export.
- Import rejected by ERP → confirm file format and required fields.
- API access denied → verify API credentials in Settings > API & Integrations.
- Partner integration not available → ask your Account Manager for roadmap updates.
