Send SEPA payments through Treasury

This article explains how to manage employee payments from Compensation using Treasury. You’ll learn how to send employees for payment, generate SEPA files, and track payment status directly from the compensation cycle.

Overview

Compensation is now connected to Treasury, allowing HR and Finance teams to manage employee payments in a single workflow.

Previously, SEPA files had to be generated outside the Compensation flow, requiring additional coordination between teams and reducing visibility into payment status.

With this integration:

  • HR teams can send employees for payment directly from Compensation
  • Finance teams can generate SEPA files from Treasury
  • Payment statuses sync back to the compensation cycle automatically
  • Both teams stay aligned throughout the payment process

This feature helps reduce manual follow-up and improves visibility from payroll review to payment completion.

When to use it

  • When payroll results have already been imported into a compensation cycle
  • When you need to generate SEPA payments for employees
  • When HR and Finance teams want to manage payroll payments in a centralised workflow

How to use

Send employees for payment from Compensation

  1. In your sidebar, go to Compensation
  2. Select a cycle
  3. Make sure the net salary payroll results have been imported
  4. Click Send for payment
  5. Select the employees you want to include
  6. Choose the payment due date
  7. Confirm the action

A payment request will automatically be created in Treasury.

Generate the SEPA file in Treasury

  1. Go to Treasury
  2. Locate the payment request created from Compensation
  3. Click on Send to pay
  4. Create a new bulk payment
    • Choose a name
    • Select a bank account
    • Write a description (optional)
  5. Click on Continue to generate the SEPA file
  6. Click on Download SEPA file at the upper right corner and upload it to your banking platform
  7. Once paid, click on Mark as paid at the upper right corner
    • The compensation cycle will automatically update with the latest payment status
  8. Once this is done, you can click on Complete cycle to close it

If the “Send for payment” option is not available, confirm that payroll results have been imported into the compensation cycle and check that you have the required permissions for Compensation and Treasury.

If the payment request does not appear in Treasury, refresh the page and verify the request was successfully submitted and confirm the compensation cycle was finalised correctly.

If the compensation cycle does not show the updated payment status, make sure the payment has been marked as Paid in Treasury. Allow a few moments for the status sync to complete.
