The Factorial MCP server lets you connect One to AI assistants that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP), such as ChatGPT, Claude, and other compatible platforms. Once connected, you can interact with One directly from your preferred AI assistant to complete HR tasks, access company information, and manage your day without switching to Factorial.
Overview
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that allows AI assistants to securely connect to external applications. By connecting Factorial through MCP, you can access One's capabilities from supported AI platforms while keeping the same permissions and security settings as in Factorial.
Use this feature if you want to:
- Access One without opening Factorial
- Complete everyday HR tasks from your preferred AI assistant
- Bring Factorial into the AI tools your organization already uses
After connecting Factorial, you can use One to:
- Clock in and out
- Check your shift status
- Request time off
- Manage your tasks
- Search for colleagues
- Ask questions about your company and available HR information based on your permissions
You will only be able to access the information and perform the actions that your Factorial permissions already allow.
How to use
- Open your preferred AI assistant that supports MCP
- Go to the connectors or integrations section of the platform
- Add Factorial as a new MCP connector
- Sign in using your Factorial account
- Once the setup is complete, start chatting with your AI assistant and ask One to perform supported actions or answer questions

If you cannot sign in to your Factorial account, confirm that you are using the correct Factorial credentials. If the issue persists, contact your organisation's administrator or Factorial Support.
If One cannot access certain information or complete an action, check whether you have permission to access that information or perform that action in Factorial. One follows the same permission model as the Factorial application.
Tips and best practices
- Use natural language when interacting with One. For example, you can ask to request time off, check today's shift, or find a colleague.
- Before requesting sensitive information, make sure you are signed in with the correct Factorial account.
- If you belong to multiple organisations, verify that you are connected to the intended Factorial account before performing actions.
- Your access is always governed by your existing Factorial permissions.
