Login or authentication methods are used to verify the identity of users and grant them access to factorial. These methods are essential aspects and security. In this article, we explore the different ways users can sign in to the factorial platform and how each can be implemented.
Email and password authentication
This is the standard login method and is available by default for all accounts. When you invite a user to factorial, they’ll receive an email asking them to create a password, which they’ll use to sign in to factorial from then on.
Users can manage their own passwords: they can change them through their personal settings and recover their account using the forgot password feature.
All passwords are required to comply with some basic security requirements to make them more secure (12 characters with uppercase, lowercase, special characters and numbers).
Sign in with Google or Microsoft
If you use Google Workspace or Microsoft Outlook to manage your company email accounts, your users can log in to Factorial directly without a password. This method doesn't require any previous configuration.
- Head to Log in page
- Select the service of your preference, either Microsoft or Google
- Validate the selected account
- Access Factorial
Login using Single Sign-On
SSO (Single Sing-On) allows users to access multiple applications using the same credentials, avoiding the need to keep track of multiple passwords. To access factorial using SSO click Sign in with SAML SSO in the login page and enter your company email address to continue.
Single sign-on requires some configuration to be done by your administrator before it can be used to sign in to your company account. Learn more about how to set up Single Sign-On.
