Factorial Campus gives you access to ready-made courses that you can offer to your employees. In this article, you'll learn about the two types of Campus courses, the requirements for each one, who can activate them, and how to give employees access.

Overview

Factorial Campus offers two types of courses:

• EU AI Act courses (free): Available to every Factorial company. You don't need a paid plan or the Learning Management System (LMS) to activate or take these courses.
• AI Literacy courses (paid): Require the Learning Management System (LMS) and the Factorial Campus (AI Literacy) package.

EU AI Act courses (free)

These courses help you meet the AI-literacy duties under the EU AI Act. They're free for every Factorial company, but an admin must turn on and activate them.

AI Literacy courses (paid)

These courses require the LMS and a paid Factorial Campus package. When your company purchases the package, Factorial automatically activates the course in your company's main language.

Who can do what

You need the Access to the training management space permission to:

• Turn on free courses
• Activate courses
• Assign participants
• Change Factorial Campus settings

This permission gives you access to the Courses tab, the Requests tab, and the Catalog.

How to use

Step 1: Turn on free courses

1. In your sidebar, go to Settings
2. Access the Training section
3. Go to Factorial Campus.
4. Enable the toggle for Enable ‘EU AI Act in 8 steps’ course for everyone

The free courses now appear in the Factorial Campus catalog and are ready to activate.

Step 2: Activate the course

For a free EU AI Act course:

1. In your sidebar, go to My Trainings 
2. Open the Factorial Campus section
3. Find the course
4. Click Activate now
5. Wait a few minutes while Factorial prepares the course in the background

You'll receive a notification when the course is ready.

For a paid AI Literacy course:

When your company purchases the Factorial Campus package, Factorial automatically activates the course in your company's main language. The main language is the language of your main legal entity.

The course then appears in your Training section. If needed, you can also activate it manually from My Trainings → Factorial Campus.

Step 3: Assign participants

Employees can't access the course until you assign them as participants.

1. In your sidebar, go to Training
2. Open the Campus course
3. Access the Participants tab
4. Add the employees who need to complete the course as participants
5. Each assigned employee can now find the course in My Trainings and take it

Add more course languages

By default, Factorial offers courses in your company's main language. To offer courses in additional languages:

1. In your sidebar, go to Settings 
2. Access the Training section
3. Access the Factorial Campus tab
4. Find Course languages
5. Choose one of the following options:
   • My company's language only: Show courses only in your main language.
   • Specific languages: Add extra languages under Additional languages.
   • All languages: Offer every language published by Factorial Campus.
6. Save your changes

Each language you add becomes available in the Factorial Campus catalog. An admin can then activate the courses in those languages from My Trainings and assign them to participants.

FAQ

1. Why can't an employee see a Campus course?
   An admin hasn't assigned the employee to the course yet. Employees can see and take a course only after an admin adds them as a participant. There is no self-service enrollment.
    
2. I am an admin and I can't find a free course to activate. What should I do?
   Turn on the free courses setting under Settings → Training → Factorial Campus. Free courses don't appear in the catalog until this setting is enabled. Also, a published course must be available for your company's market and language.
    
3. Why do I see a paid course in only one language?
   Purchasing the Factorial Campus package automatically activates the course in your company's main language. Add additional languages under Settings → Training → Factorial Campus → Course languages, then activate those courses manually.
    
4. How long does it take for a course to become available after I activate it?
   Factorial prepares the course in the background. This takes a few minutes. You'll receive a notification when the course is ready.
    
5. Who can activate courses and change Campus settings?
   Only users with the Access to the training management space permission can activate courses, assign participants, or change Campus settings.
    
6. Do I need a paid plan to use Factorial Campus courses?
   No. Free EU AI Act courses are available to every Factorial company without a paid plan or the LMS. Paid AI Literacy courses require the LMS and the Factorial Campus (AI Literacy) package.
