This requires the relevant feature to be enabled and working hours to be tracked in Factorial. When that's the case, hours worked can be moved from time tracking into the Compensation module and from there on to DATEV – no manual transfer is needed.
Without the feature enabled, or without tracked hours, no values are transmitted.
Important: The following hours are not transferred automatically:
- Public holidays
- Vacation
- Sick leave
These must be added manually, either in the Compensation module (before syncing) or directly in DATEV (after syncing, by your tax advisor or DATEV administrator).
To set up hourly employees, please follow these steps:
Step 1: Set an hourly rate in the contract
The employee's contract must have compensation set on an hourly basis.

Step 2: Enable hourly-based compensation
Go to Settings → Compensation → Connected modules → Time tracking, and enable “Hourly employees only” in the box on the right.

Step 3: Approve the timesheets in the time-tracking module.

Send the timesheets to Compensation.

Select the month they should be allocated to.

Step 4: Sync hours to DATEV
Approved hours appear in the Compensation module under the cycle and can be transferred to DATEV together with the transactional data.
Here, before syncing, you can enter manual adjustments for sick leave, vacation, and public-holiday hours.
