Why can't One see or answer about my Performance data?

When One can't answer a Performance question, the reason is almost always one of five things: you don't have access to that data in Factorial, the area is for admins only, the area isn't in your company's plan, the data doesn't exist yet (for example the review isn't finished), or One doesn't support that area. Use the checklist below to find which one applies.

Before you start

  • Check that you can open One at all. If you can't, you don't have the Use One permission. An admin grants it in Settings > Permissions > One.

Steps

  1. Try to find the same information yourself in the product, for example in Performance > Reviews or Performance > Feedbacks. If you can't see it there, One can't see it either.
  2. Check the area in the table below to see who can ask One about it.
  3. Check that the data exists: the review cycle is finished, the results are shared, the competency was assessed in the review.
  4. Check that the area is supported by One (see Limitations).
  5. Ask again with exact names: the full review cycle name, the plan name, or @ to select a person.
Area Who can ask One
Performance reviews and competency scores Everyone with access to Performance
Competency definitions and levels Admins only
Feedback Everyone with access to Feedbacks in the Performance menu
Incentive plans (Enterprise) Admins only
Performance analytics Admins only

Rules and behavior

  • If you can't see data in the product, then One can't see it.
  • If your company's plan doesn't include an area, then One says it isn't in your plan.
  • If you're not an admin, then One can't answer about competency definitions, incentive plans or One Analytics.
  • If a review cycle is active, then final scores don't exist yet, and One answers about pending evaluations instead.
  • If a review didn't share results with you, then One has no scores for you in that review.
  • If a name matches nothing, then One finds no data. Use the exact name or @.

Limitations

One doesn't support these areas in chat, whatever your permissions:

  • 1:1 meetings.
  • Calibration, the 9-box grid and potential scores.
  • Review templates and questionnaires.

Troubleshooting

  • Symptom: "One says it can't help with competencies." → Cause: Questions about competency definitions are for admins only. → Fix: Ask about competency scores from reviews instead.
  • Symptom: "One says there are no scores for the review." → Cause: The review is still active, nobody submitted, or results aren't shared with you. → Fix: Check the review status and results sharing in Performance > Reviews.
  • Symptom: "One can't tell me my bonus." → Cause: Incentive plans in One are for admins only. → Fix: Ask your HR or compensation team.
  • Symptom: "One can't say if a 1:1 happened after the review." → Cause: One can't read 1:1 meetings in chat. → Fix: Check the 1:1 meetings in Factorial.
  • Symptom: "My colleague gets different answers from One." → Cause: Your colleague has different permissions. → Fix: This is expected.
  • Symptom: "One finds nothing for 'last review'." → Cause: Several cycles match, or the latest one has no results. → Fix: Name the review cycle exactly.

FAQ

1. Is One broken if it says "no data"?

Usually not. It means One found nothing you're allowed to see that matches your question.

2. Can an admin give One more access than I have?

No. One always uses your own permissions.
