See an employee's goals on their profile

The goals card on an employee's profile overview shows how their individual goals are going. It stacks one group for each period and frequency active today, for example the yearly goals and the Q4 monthly goals, each with its overall progress, one bar per period and the current status of each goal.

Before you start

  • You see the card only for employees whose goals you can see with See key results, including your own profile.
  • The card only shows individual goals: goals assigned to that person alone. Team, company and other shared goals are not shown.

Step by step

  1. Open the employee's profile (or your own) and stay on the Overview.
  2. Find the Goals card.
  3. Each group is labelled with its period and frequency. The longest period comes first.
  4. For each group, read the overall progress and, for split goals, one bar per period.
  5. Under each group, read each goal's status: Not started, On track, Achieved or Missed.
  6. Click a goal to open its detail page. Click the Goals title, or View N more at the bottom of the card (for example View 2 more), to open the employee's goals in Performance > Goals.

 Rules and behavior

  • If a group's period contains today, then the group is shown. Groups whose period has ended drop off the card.
  • Groups are ordered by start date, then longest period, then frequency (yearly before quarterly).
  • Each group shows at most 5 goals. The View N more footer counts every hidden goal across all groups and opens the employee's goals.
  • If some goals in a group have weights, then the group's overall progress is a weighted average. Example: goals weighted 50%, 30% and 20% with progress 100%, 50% and 0% give 65%. If no goal has a weight, it is the plain average (50% in the same example).
  • If the employee has no individual goals active today, then the Goals card is not shown.
  • The overall progress bars show attainment. Each goal's status is shown by its own tag.
  • Every number is the same progress shown in Performance > Goals.

Limitations

  • You can't see collective goals on the profile card.
  • You can't see past periods on the profile card. Use Performance > Goals with the date navigator.
  • The View N more footer doesn't say which group the hidden goals belong to.
  • You can't update progress from the card.

Troubleshooting

  • Symptom: "Goals that ended last week are gone from the profile." → Cause: The card shows only groups whose period contains today. → Fix: Open Performance > Goals and pick the past period in the date navigator.
  • Symptom: "A team goal is missing from the profile." → Cause: The card shows only goals assigned to that person alone. → Fix: Open the person's side panel in Performance > Goals > Employees to see their Collective goals.
  • Symptom: "I don't see a goals card on someone's profile." → Cause: You can't see that person's goals, or they have no individual goals active today. → Fix: Check your See key results scope with an admin.

 FAQ

1. Why does the profile show only some of my goals?
The card shows only your individual goals in periods that contain today, and up to 5 goals per group. Click one of your cards at the top of Performance > Goals to open your goals side panel with all of them.

2. Is this the same as the My goals widget on Home?
They show the same kind of group. The Home widget shows one group you choose. The profile card shows every group active today.
