How AI Calls and AI Reports work in the ATS

With Factorial’s ATS, the AI agent can call every new candidate, evaluate the conversation against the criteria you define for the role, and turn each call into a structured report with a match label. Candidates who reach the minimum match label you choose can move to the next stage automatically — everyone else stays where they are for your manual review. No candidate is ever rejected automatically.

The flow at a glance

Application → First stage (New) → AI Call → Evaluation and match label → Automatic move to the next stage, or manual review.

The three pieces you configure

  1. Role context — the criteria. What the AI should evaluate: competencies, verifiable facts, and signals. This is the briefing you would give a new recruiter.
  2. AI Call in the pipeline — the conversation. Which stage triggers the call and what the call validates.
  3. AI movement — the decision. The minimum match label a candidate needs to advance automatically.

Configure them in this order: first the criteria, then the call, and finally the automatic decision.

Before you start

  • You need permission to edit the job opening’s settings and its stages.
  • The AI agent must be configured in the AI Agent tab (voice, calling hours, retries, company presentation).
  • Once an AI Call exists in the process, the phone number becomes a required field in the application form: “It is required because there is an AI call configured in this job’s hiring process.”
  • The clearer your role criteria, the better the evaluation.
