The Activity Log gives you a complete history of changes made in shift planning. You can see who created, updated, deleted, or published shifts and related schedule items, when the action happened, and whether it was part of a bulk action.
Overview
The Activity Log provides traceability for changes made in shift planning. This is especially useful when several managers collaborate on the same schedule and you need to understand who made a change or what happened to a shift.
Use it to quickly identify changes, review bulk actions, and understand when an action was made or undone.
The Activity Log includes actions involving:
- Shifts
- Rest days
- Open shifts
- Created, updated, deleted, and published items
How to use
- In your sidebar, go to Shifts
- In the page header, click on the clock icon to access Activity
- A side panel opens with a timeline of shift-planning activity across the company
- Review the activity entries to see who performed each action and when
- Select an entry to access links to the people involved, when available
- For bulk actions, select View details to see the individual changes included in the action
- Navigate the timeline by day, week, month, or year to review activity for a specific period

Use the Author filter to find actions made by a specific person.

If you cannot see the Activity button, make sure you have the Access activity log permission. If you should have access but the Activity button is not available, contact your admin.
If you cannot find a specific change, try selecting a different time range and use the Author filter to narrow down the results. If the change was part of a bulk action, select View details to see the individual changes.
If you see a bulk action but cannot see all the changes, select View details on the bulk activity entry. This shows the individual changes included in the action.
Activity entries
Each activity is displayed as a sentence describing what happened.
For example: “Maria created a ‘Morning’ shift for John on 2026-08-10.”
For bulk actions, related changes are grouped into a single entry.
For example, publishing a week of shifts can appear as “published 105 shifts”
Undone actions are also included in the activity log.
Permissions
The Activity Log is available to users with the Access activity log permission. This permission is granted to admins by default.
Because the log can contain sensitive information about employees and schedules, grant this permission only to people who need access to it.
