The goals page in Performance > Goals is one list with two views (Goals and Employees), cards with your own attainment at the top, a date navigator, search, filters and configurable columns. It replaces the separate Goals and People tabs (also called the OKR dashboard or team goals page) of the previous goals experience.
Before you start
- You need the See key results permission. The goals in the list are the ones your permission scope lets you see.
- The Employees view only appears if you can see other employees' goals.
- The Direct reports filter only appears if you have direct reports.
Step by step
Switch between views
- Go to Performance > Goals.
- At the top of the list, select a view:
- Goals: every top-level goal you can see. Sub-goals appear when you expand their parent goal.
-
Employees: individual goals grouped by person. Groups are collapsed; click a person's name or View details to open their goals side panel.
See how your own goals are going
- Go to Performance > Goals.
- Above the list, read your cards. There is one card for each group of your individual goals that share a period and frequency, for example "2026 · Yearly". Each card shows the period, the frequency, your overall progress and one bar per period.
- Click a card to open your goals side panel. It lists your Individual goals and the Collective goals you share with others.
Choose the time period
- Go to Performance > Goals.
- Open the date navigator at the top right of the list. It shows the current year by default.
- Choose Year, Quarter, Month or a custom range, then select the period.
- Use the arrows next to the date navigator to move to the previous or next period.
Search and filter
- Go to Performance > Goals.
- Type in the search box to find goals by name.
- Click the filter button and choose one or more filters:
- Assignees: pick the company, legal entities, teams, job roles or specific employees a goal is assigned to.
- Direct reports > Only my direct reports: shows goals of the people who report directly to you.
- Type of metric: Numeric, Percentage, Currency, Achieved / not achieved or Based on sub-goals (Enterprise plan).
- Frequency: Yearly, Half-yearly, Quarterly or Monthly.
Show or hide columns
- Go to Performance > Goals.
- Open the table settings at the top right of the table.
- Show, hide or reorder columns. The Title column always stays visible.

Open and act on a goal
- Go to Performance > Goals.
- Click a goal's row to open its detail page.
- To act without opening the goal, open the row menu (…) on the right of the row. Depending on your permissions, it offers Update progress, Edit goal, Duplicate goal, Add sub-goal, Unlink from parent, View members and Delete goal.
- To see a goal's sub-goals, click the arrow at the start of the row. Sub-goals and Add sub-goal are part of cascading goals, available on the Enterprise plan.
Rules and behavior
- If the date navigator is set to a Year, then the list shows every goal whose dates overlap that year.
- If the date navigator is set to a Quarter, Month or custom range, then the list shows only goals whose dates fall completely inside that period. A yearly goal does not appear when a quarter is selected.
- If you select the Employees view together with an Assignees filter on the company, a legal entity, a team or a job role, then no goals match, because individual goals are assigned to hand-picked people. The list shows "No individual goal can match these filters".
- If a goal has sub-goals, then the Goals view shows it at the top level and its sub-goals inside it.
- Your attainment cards appear above both views and follow the date navigator. If it is set to a Year, then every group of your goals that overlaps that year has a card. If it is set to a Quarter, Month or custom range, then only groups that fit completely inside it have a card.
- If you have no individual goals in the selected period, then a single card says so.
- If some goals in a group have weights, then the card's overall progress is a weighted average. If no goal has a weight, it is the plain average.
- In the Employees view, a person's sub-goal appears at the top level of that person's group unless its parent is also that person's goal.
- If you have the Create key results permission, then the New Goal button appears at the top right of the list.
- Your filters, search and sorting are remembered the next time you open the page in the same browser.
- The number above the list counts the goals that match the current view, period and filters, for example "12 goals".
Limitations
- You can't filter by status or by performance cycle.
- You can't group the Goals view by person. Use the Employees view.
- The Employees view groups the goals of the current page only, so one person's goals can continue on the next page.
Troubleshooting
- Symptom: "I can't find a goal I know exists." → Cause: The date navigator is set to a period that doesn't contain the whole goal, or a filter is active. → Fix: Set the date navigator to the goal's year and clear all filters.
- Symptom: "I don't see the Employees view." → Cause: Your See key results scope only covers yourself. → Fix: Ask an admin to extend the scope in Settings > Permissions > Goals.
- Symptom: "The Direct reports filter is missing." → Cause: Nobody reports directly to you in Factorial. → Fix: Use the Assignees filter instead, or ask an admin to update the reporting line.
- Symptom: "The New Goal button is missing." → Cause: You don't have Create key results, or its scope doesn't reach any active employee. → Fix: Ask an admin to grant Create key results.
