You can now ask One to update an employee's profile data and make changes to their contract, simply by describing what you need in your own words. This lets you keep employee information up to date without navigating through each section of the employee profile manually.
Overview
One can act on employee and contract data for individual employees. You can ask One to:
- Update employee profile data: change information stored in an employee's profile.
- Make contract changes: any contract change that you can currently make from the Contracts tab can also be made through One.
One always works within your access permissions. It can only view or change the employee and contract information that you are allowed to view or change manually in Factorial.
When and why it should be used
Use One when you need to make a quick change for a specific employee, for example:
- Updating a salary
- Updating information in an employee's profile
- Making any other contract change available in the Contracts tab
How to use
- Open One in your Factorial account
- Describe the change you want to make, including the employee's name, the information to update and the new value. For example:
- "Can you change the salary for [employee name] to 40,000 €?"
- Provide any additional information One asks for
- Review One's response, which summarises the change made and its effective date
- Go to the employee's profile to check the updated information if needed
If One detects other related changes already scheduled for the employee (for example, a future salary change), it may let you know and offer to adjust them as well.

If One cannot make the change you requested, check that you have the necessary permissions to edit that employee's profile or contract.
If you need to apply the same change to several employees, use the existing bulk options in Factorial. One currently handles changes for one employee at a time.
Tips and best practices
- Be specific: include the employee's full name, the exact field you want to change and the new value.
- Include the effective date for contract changes, so the change is applied from the right date.
- Review the result: read One's summary carefully and check the employee's profile or Contracts tab if you want to confirm the change.
FAQ
-
Can I update several employees at once with One?
Not yet. One currently supports changes for individual employees only. Bulk actions are not yet available through One.
-
Which contract changes can One make?
One can make the same contract changes that are currently available in the Contracts tab of the employee profile.
-
Can One change data I don't have permission to edit?
No. One works within your existing permissions and never performs actions you aren't allowed to perform manually.
-
Does using this feature consume my One allowance?
Yes. Changes made through One consume your personal One allowance, like any other request to One.
-
Can I still edit employee and contract data without One?
Yes. This is an additional way to make changes. You can continue editing employee and contract data manually, individually or in bulk, as before.
