Do it with One: "How did our latest performance review go?"
One can answer questions about performance reviews (also called appraisals or evaluations) in plain language: what you still have to complete, how people scored, what reviewers wrote and how a review cycle went. One only reads review data. It can't launch, edit or submit reviews. Every answer is limited to the reviews and results you can already see in Performance > Reviews.
Before you start
- You need the Use One permission and access to Performance in the sidebar.
- One sees the same reviews you see. An employee sees their own published results, a manager sees their team's results as the review allows, and an admin with Review Process Full Visibility sees all reviews.
- Questions about results work best on finished review cycles. Active cycles have pending evaluations but often no final scores yet.
Steps
As a reviewer: check what you still have to complete
- Open One from any page.
- Ask "Do I have any pending performance evaluations to complete?" or "How many reviews do I have left?".
- One lists your unsubmitted evaluations in active review cycles, grouped by review cycle.
- Open Performance > Reviews to complete them. One can't fill them in for you.
As an employee: see your own results
- Open One.
- Ask "What is my last performance review score?" or "Which performance reviews do I participate in?".
- One shows your final score on the review's scale, for example "3.8/5", and the review cycle name.
As a manager or admin: understand a review cycle
- Open One.
- Name the review cycle, or say "latest finished review". For example: "How did our latest performance review go?".
- One checks participation, submitted evaluations, scores, AI review summaries, manager insights and action plans, and ends with the most important finding and a suggested next step.
- Ask follow-up questions, for example "Which managers are late in submitting their review?" or "Who are the top performers?".
- To focus on one person, type @ and select them, for example "Show me @Ana García's scores in the last two reviews".
Rules and behavior
- If the review uses a native scale (for example 1–5), then One shows scores and averages on that scale, for example "average 3.4/5".
- If you ask how performance changed over time or who improved the most, then One compares each person's two most recent finished reviews on a 0–100 normalized score, so reviews with different scales are comparable. Ask for "not normalized" scores to see each review on its own scale.
- If you ask for people who "scored a 4", then One includes scores from 3.5 up to (but not including) 4.5 and shows each exact score.
- If you mention "peer" or "360", "manager", "upward" or "self-assessment", then One filters by that type of reviewer. If the review has no breakdown by reviewer type, One says "strategy breakdown is not available".
- If the latest finished review has no results (for example nobody submitted), then One compares it with the previous finished review that has results before drawing conclusions.
- If you ask about action plans, then One shows each employee's action plan status as pending or submitted (never "signed"), the submission date, the action items written in the plan and any trainings requested in it.
- If you ask about AI review summaries, then One reads the AI Insights of each reviewee (performance summary, strengths, areas to improve).
- If you ask about manager insights, then One reads the Team insights of each manager in the review: the AI Summary, suggested action items and average alignment.
- If a question covers a very large review, then One narrows it by review cycle, team or manager before answering.

Limitations
- One can't create, launch, edit, close or reopen a review cycle.
- One can't complete, submit or reopen an evaluation, and it can't send reminders to late reviewers.
- One can't create, edit or submit action plans.
- One can't read or build review templates and questionnaires.
- One can't read 1:1 meetings. If you ask "Did managers have a 1:1 after the review?", One says it's not supported.
- One can't read calibration, the 9-box grid or potential scores. Use Talent Analytics for the 9-box grid.
- One can't generate or regenerate AI review summaries or manager insights. It only reads the ones already generated.
- One shows salary next to performance only if you can see that person's contract.
Troubleshooting
- Symptom: "One says there are no reviews for my team." → Cause: The review is still active, results aren't shared with you, or the team name didn't match. → Fix: Name the review cycle exactly and check in Performance > Reviews that you can see its results.
- Symptom: "The scores One shows are 0–100 but our scale is 1–5." → Cause: You asked an evolution or improvement question, which uses the normalized score. → Fix: Ask again with "show the scores on the original scale, not normalized".
- Symptom: "One can't tell me who had a 1:1 after the review." → Cause: One has no access to 1:1 meetings in chat. → Fix: Check the 1:1 meetings in Factorial.
- Symptom: "One says strategy breakdown is not available." → Cause: The review didn't collect scores by reviewer type (self, manager, peers). → Fix: Look at the individual evaluations in the review.
FAQ
1. Can my employees ask One about their colleagues' scores?
No. One only shows results the person can see in Factorial. Employees see their own published results.
2. Does One count unsubmitted evaluations in the average?
No. Scores come from submitted evaluations and calculated final scores.
3. Can One tell me which reviews I still need to write?
Yes. Ask "How many reviews do I have left?" and One lists your pending evaluations in active review cycles.
4. Can One compare two review cycles that used different scales?
Yes. One compares them on a 0–100 normalized score and shows the original score next to it.
5. Can One remind managers who are late?
No. One can list late managers, but you send reminders from the review itself.
