The Trust Channel allows people to submit reports either in writing or by recording a voice message. Voice reporting provides a more accessible way to communicate concerns while helping organisations comply with regulations that require oral reporting channels, such as the EU Whistleblowing Directive.
Overview
Voice reporting allows whistleblowers to record an audio message instead of writing a text description when submitting a report or adding a reply.
Key capabilities include:
- Record audio directly from the browser
- Recordings can be up to 5 minutes long
- Complaint Managers can listen to recordings directly from the complaint details
- Anonymous reports include automatic voice disguise before the recording is uploaded, helping protect the reporter's identity
When and why to use it
Use voice reporting when:
- You prefer speaking instead of writing your report
- Writing a detailed description is difficult or inconvenient
- You want a more accessible way to communicate your concern
- Your organisation needs to provide an oral reporting channel to support compliance with applicable whistleblowing regulations
How to use
Submit a new report with a voice recording
- Open your organisation's Trust Channel
- Start creating a new report
- In the description section, select the Audio tab
- Allow your browser to access your microphone if prompted
- Record your message (up to 5 minutes)
- Review your recording if playback is available
- Complete any remaining required fields
- Submit your report

If you choose to submit the report anonymously, your voice is automatically disguised before the recording is uploaded.

Listen to a voice recording as a Complaint manager
- Open the relevant complaint
- Locate the voice recording within the complaint or reply
- Use the inline audio player to listen to the recording

If you cannot start recording, check that your browser has permission to use your microphone, verify that your microphone is connected and working and refresh the page and try again.
If your recording will not upload, confirm that your recording does not exceed the 5-minute limit and check your internet connection and try submitting again.
If you cannot hear the recording, verify that your device volume is turned on, check that your browser supports audio playback and refresh the page if the audio player does not load correctly.

- Record your message in a quiet environment to improve audio quality
